Mission Statement:
As a 100% volunteer organization, Edgmont Township Fire Company No.1’s (ETFC) mission is to preserve lives, properties, and build safer communities. Serving both Edgmont and Thornbury Townships it is our duty as first responders to protect the lives and property of our Township’s residents and visitors by responding to incidents ie; alarms, fires, medical emergencies, and disasters. The Fire Company advances public safety through fire prevention and educational programs. The timely delivery of these services enables the ETFC to make significant contributions to the protection of our surrounding communities and homeland security efforts. All of this is done with honor, integrity, sacrifice, and purpose for the safety of our community.

Vision Statement:
As an Emergency Services provider that responds to all emergency situations, we will strive to maintain aggressive and state of the art firefighting tactics through a proactive atmosphere with progressive training in equipment and strategies. We will support a safe, healthy and diverse workplace that is open to dialogue and change. We strive towards providing emergency services to our, and surrounding communities while utilizing responsible environmental practices We will continue to establish a strong community relations program, particularly in the areas of fire prevention, public education, emergency preparedness as well as recruitment and retention of volunteers.

Value Statement:
We encourage and support excellence in leadership, innovation and service. We aspire to the highest level of competency through training and mentoring. Open communication and teamwork are the foundation for what we do. Putting our community and its residents first; we prepare for duty, and serve with honor and integrity. We respond with compassion and a commitment to professionalism. We honor our families and the deep traditions of the Volunteer Fire Service and will act with dignity and respect in all situations. 

Customer Service Statement:
By saving our communities significant tax dollars, we will continue to provide a high level of customer service by protecting life, property, and the  environment through the delivery of innovative, fiscally responsible firefighting, rescue, fire prevention, and emergency management services. As a core service of our community, we are committed to protecting citizens, families, our colleagues, and the preservation of our profession in the delivery of these services.
